Frequently asked questions

How much continuous power does this inverter provide?

This model is rated for up to 2000W continuous output. Start-up loads can be higher, so check the connected equipment and follow the inverter's installation and battery requirements.

How many AC outlets and USB ports does it have?

The original product FAQ lists three AC outlets and no USB charging ports. Check the product photos and exact model before ordering if the port layout is important to you.

What kinds of devices can this inverter power?

It can power compatible AC devices whose combined continuous and start-up demand stays within the inverter's ratings and the installed battery and wiring limits. Check the specifications of larger appliances and motors before use.

Is this a pure sine wave or modified sine wave inverter?

This 3-outlet 2000W model is described in the original product FAQ as a modified-sine-wave inverter. Confirm that waveform-sensitive equipment accepts modified sine wave power before use.

Does the cooling fan run continuously?

No. The built-in cooling fan runs as needed to help dissipate heat, especially under heavier load. Its operation can vary with load and temperature.

I used this during a two-day power outage in Northern California when the utility was shutting off power to prevent wildfires. I hooked this up to my fully charged electric car (Chevy Bolt). I ran two refrigerators, our wifi, 3-4 laptops, TV, several LED lamps. I put a wattmeter and all my devices drew about 600W usually, sometimes up to 900W. The inverter never shutdown, or did anything weird. I did have a 1000W Dewalt inverter that would shutdown when we got too close to it's max, so I replaced it with this one.Only very minor issue was I did notice only ONE of my Macbook adapters made a buzzing sound when connected to it. But the others didn't so I think that adapter has a slight defect. But when connected to grid power that adapter doesn't buzz. Possibly because of the modified/box sine wave.I bought 3 more of these for my family in TX.

After owning this 2000 watt inverter for one year, I finally learned how to connect the alligator clamps correctly and the unit is amazing! It's extremely quiet, ran my hair dryer and is a huge added bonus when the power runs out since I have extra car batteries.A car battery is about 6000 watts and a 200 watt room (two lamps, a stereo, a 32 inch TV, a DVD player, a game systems will run about 200 watts an hour giving you 30 hours of power.)I purchased this unit for $129, still a deal at $156.Recommend to place Bestek 2000 watt inverter in an area away from children.Keep the unit off while connecting the alligator clamps. Red clamps (postive) first then black (negative). You really have to squeeze the clamps very hard sliding the rubber down slightly towards the wires; no need to cut the rubber covers. Using gloves helps when squeezing the clamps. Excellent product and will buy again. Thanks for reading.

This is a fantastic inverter for the price not a pure sign wave but I knew that when purchasing. Unit was purchased for a 700amp hour solar generator equipped with 4 Renogy 100watt solar panels for charging while dry glamping/camping.It's incredibly important that the wife can use her Keurig K10 (draws only 700 watts to brew) coffee maker. As they say "Happy Wife, Happy Life". This unit runs our laptops, K10 Keurig coffee maker (larger Keurig units draw to much power and will shut off) even hook up our karaoke machine, small AC unit, small refrigerator Handles everything with no issues. Only improvement that I would like to see would be an amp usage meter and battery voltage meter be built in. For this I just purchased a Electricity Usage Monitor,Household Appliance Energy Watt Voltage Amps Meter Electricity Usage Monitor with LCD Display Plug Power. Unit has fans for keeping it cool in the hot outdoor summer weather. During inclement weather we just put it inside the solar generator. I would definitely buy another if we needed it. Keep in mind it's 2000 total watts total not 2000 watts per plug with a peak of 4600 combined.

I use this to run a pretty high watt raft pump. It draws a lot of current though so you probably want to leave you car running and have the alternator running while you're using it. Great inverter though.

It just does everything!I've had other inverters and they suck compared to this one! What I also like is that there is no annoying beep when the battery bank runs empty it just automatically shuts off.

The build quality is top notch! So far it has powered everything I've plugged into it.Do not use the included cables to power any high amperage equipment!Infact don't use them for anything. These companies do their best to keep the cost down so the cables are usually very low quality.

We live in Florida and are subject to the occasional hurricane or tropical depression (one is on the way as I write this). I did a lot of research concerning the load this inverter would handle, i.e., side by side 25 cft. 11.6 amp fridge, box fan, small appliances, etc. I also took into consideration some of the 1 star reviews and decided the higher reviews out weighted the lower ones and decided to take a chance. I received the inverter, unboxed it, and followed the hook up instructions which are extremely minimal. Therefore, I encourage watching some YouTube videos. I then connected it to my car battery making sure the inverter was OFF, started my car (6 cyl Toyota Camry), switched it ON, green light indicator came on, connected a long extension cord to the inverter, then to my refrigerator and the interior light came ON. I left the door on the fridge open until the compressor kicked in. When it did, the light flickered for a moment, then the inverter adjusted to the load and then light came back on and the compressor kicked in. I let it run for a while and it maintained the load.I am impressed that this modified sine wave inverter actually did the job. Other reviews said it wouldn't run a refrigerator unless it was a pure sine wave...not true. This inverter is really two 1000w units in one housing (2000w). That's why you have two red and two black battery clamps. Connect one clamp to battery terminal, then clamp the second to the connected clamp...works great.

Work great! I have been running one of these for years daily in my work van. It will not run my table saw but will run a compressor, miter saw, DeWalt 4 battery charging station, ECT. I just bought another one for the new plow truck.

Only used it twice, but it works good. It did shut off once, I think because that battery was running low on power.

This thing is great! Bought it because of the ice storms we were getting. Kept knocking out our power. The last storm that hit and power went out, we hooked this thing up to the heated fish tank, cell phones, tv, DVD player, AND fridge.... all at the same time. It works wonderfully!!! I would recommend this to anyone! We didn’t have money for a generator and this was way cheaper. Excellent product!

I had ordered a smaller unit which was not what I needed. I ordered the larger unit and was impressed on thee speed of the delivery. I am sure it will perform as I need.

Had the inverter for 2 years now to run battery back up for my pellet stove. Used it a lot with no problems. Not fancy but good value for the price.

I used the inverter to power an electric chain saw drawing 14.5 amps. The inverter worked as expected with no issues. The inverter does have open vents and a fan to cool the unit, so I did make sure it was not close to the dust and chips from the chain saw.

I find it more convenient than hauling a generator for small jobs. It ran one of my low amp circular saws just fine with no apparent power loss.

I really wanted to buy a pure sine wave inverter but they are just too expensive. I actually did buy a 1000 watt PSW unit before I got this one, but the 1000w unit fried instantly under the first load I put it under. The moral of that story is don't buy a cheap PSW inverter, at least not for any large high-current loads. This inexpensive modified sine wave unit is working so far for the main thing I wanted, which was to run my porter cable 6 gallon air compressor on the go to inflate paddle boards and tires and such. The compressor is rated at 11 amps (1320 watts) and this inverter runs it, but it does run a bit more slowly and with a slightly different "tune" than it does on household AC. Kinda to be expected on a cheap and dirty MSW unit so I can't really dock them a star for that (but I almost want to).I appreciate that the fuses are externally accessible on this unit. Also like the dual battery clamps setup, that helps a lot with getting a solid enough connection to your battery. It cannot be understated how important it is to have a solid connection to your battery with these high-power inverters that draw a lot of current. I plan to hard wire it with some 0-2 gauge wire but the battery clamps will be handy to have in a pinch. The wire in them is a bit too thin really though, good enough for medium and small loads but any large load you really should upgrade your wire right away first thing. As long as this unit doesn't die an early death it will continue to be 5 stars from me mainly due to the great price for the wattage. If it gives any trouble I am the type that will be right back here updating the review as soon as it does.

Have this for my mobile detailing business! I have ran a steamer, electric ryobi pressure washer, wet vac all without any problems. This thing is a beast! I also had a power outage and used this to run a 60 inch led tv and a few lights without a sweat. Def a good buy.. I don't know how long it will last.. I think if you just take care of it!... no drops or throwing it around you'll be good for awhile!!!!

I have had this 2000 watt unit for 4 years now with 5 battery’s with 2 100 watt solar panel’s I’ve had pancake compressor to circular saws hooked to never had any problems with it.

This inverter has been solely running my off grid cottage reliably for 3 years and has not missed a minute of work! Although it’s a modified sine wave inverter, it has powered a refrigerator, instant pot, fan, lights, internet modem, security cameras, laptop and television. All of the original electronics are still working after 3 years, and operating without any problems. The unit itself has remained quiet in a Caribbean environment. I was recommending a different pure sine wave inverter for a friend that is moving off grid, which was 3 times the cost, but then had a conversation about how well this inverter has worked for me. She decided to go with this inverter as well. I am really impressed with the service this machine has provided.

I'm really surprised how well this works. I bought it as a back up, when our big inverter failed I hooked the whole boat up to it. It runs the microwave or stove on top of the rest of the house load, no problem.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Low price and great for the job. We camp where we have no electricity and this will run what we need in the woods. The key have a big long lasting battery.

So far excellent. We live off grid while in Hawaii and replaces our smaller inverter with this. Our previous inverter had a very loud fan that was very bothersome. This one uses a very quit computer style fan that is not audible. There appears to be plenty of airspace inside the box so airflow to the components should be good.It comes with alligator clips and short wires which appear sufficient for a temporary install. For those of us setting it up permanently remember that you will need four cables to connect to your batteries

I live this power inverter, I bought it to replace my Honda eu2200i then I go off grid and for the most part it work pretty good. I’m not sure it will replace my Honda generator but it good for a back up.
