Review the dimensions, cable layout and device requirements before packing the inverter for the road.
Do not assume a vehicle accessory socket can supply the full 500W. Its fuse and wiring usually impose a lower limit. For higher loads, follow this inverter's manual for the approved battery connection and cable requirements.
The MRI5011BU manual lists a 0.8 m cable, or about 31.5 inches.
Where do I have to start??! This thing truthfully is amazing piece of invention. It's highly durable. I know because I tested it in multiple cars I got crashed pretty hard, stored in very high temperature above 130 degrees F at one point. It even gotten rained on. Yet it still charging really good. I have no issues charging small appliances and multiple electronics with this inverter. It's always been kept on the top of my work car dashboard directly exposed to hot California and Arizona Desert sun. All but one USB works. Fuse still original and as you can see. It definitely got serious aging. Rust buildup because of sun and occasional rain exposures. Also cables started to get worn out but it still working. I gave 4 star because I don't know where I can get purchase or get a replacement wiring for this little beast.would I recommend buying it. TOTALLY!! it may not be on the cheaper side. But it definitely feels durable, it's none like the other cheap plastic inverter you see online. It's made of metal casing and felt rugged. No noise issues om mine.
Good little inverter that powers my 110vac Starlink from the boat’s 12v system. It is easy to mount and connect. This allows me to run my data network during power outages.
I have a SAE line coming into the my truck bed to power accessories.I bought this unit because it has terminals. So I bought a short SAE cable to terminals and wired up my inverter. The wires almost melted immediately. Why did it get hot, and not even turned on?Well my wires came with a little reverse adapters I didn't pay attention to, and when I plugged in the SAE connector is was hot to ground.I added the reverse adapter and problem solved.Whew.I plugged a light in, and it turned on.The piece feels rugged, and looks good.Time will tell how it holds up to occasional use.
I have this mounted in the back of my Toyota 4Runner. Thousands of miles of being mounted in a car and used on many camping / road trips to charge camera equipment, drones, rc cars, tools, laptops and anything else you can think of. Works perfectly, makes absolutely no noise, absolutely worth every penny! And looks nice back there in my opinion.
Well made. Easily powered my 3 amp Makita orbital sander off battery terminals. Very quiet operation.I only wish the battery cables were longer—6’ instead of 1’. I have to keep my hood open while running it.I highly recommend it.Very fast shipping, received two days early.******* UPDATE Feb 2026–It quit working after occaisional use in 4 years. Never overloaded. Just won’t turn on. Fuses were good.
This little device was wonderful to use during the recent ice storm/power outage in Texas! I charged my phone, laptop & could use a small lamp. Not all at once because there are only 2 110V outlets. It does have 2-USB ports, also! But I did it’s job well! I have a marine deep cycle battery inside the house, and I clipped this to the battery posts and was very proud to have it! I originally purchased it in preparation for power outage during a hurricane.
We have 2 of these in our camper bedroom (1 on each side of the bed) to help convert 12V battery to charge cell phones, run fans, and other small items. They will not work with high power items such as a microwave. They are extremely quiet and I have never noticed either one getting hot. Definitely a good thing.I would recommend these on the lower end of power conversion needs.
I bought 3 to use in different areas of the property that do not have electricity.Hooked the100W solar panel to a marine deep cycle battery. Battery hooks to this and I am able to plug in my 6 (40W each from Costco) LED lights (Costco 4') in a row to power the sheds and barn. The switch allows the lights to come on & off. Great product, very quiet and is weathering the limited outside exposure. Had about 1 year.
Fast delivery but the USB ports came mounted wrong, it can't be used this way. Seems manufacture has a serious quality control issue. I requested a replacement and I’ll update this review once I got it.Update - I got a replacement from Amazon, and now is working as expected, so I changed my review from 1 to 5 stars.
The quality control and packaging is an atrocity. This is one of the more expensive units as we wanted something a little more reliable and sturdy. It arrived all beat up and bent and the top USB outlet was messed up. Right out of the box.I tried it out before our trip to make sure that it still works and thankfully, it did. We were still able to power the kids' devices for the duration of our road trip and it seemed like it'll work out alright. I'm not sure what kind of warranty it comes with or what it covers, but this thing took quite a beating during transit to my house so I'm keeping a close eye on it for any issues.Update: I was contacted by the seller shortly after I received the damaged unit and they offered to send me a replacement unit at no charge. The replacement arrived in much better shape. It was the same packaging as the old one so it's clear that the new unit may have had a "safer" trip than the first one. I gotta give them a lot of credit for their excellent customer serviceThe person that I was emailing back and forth with was very friendly and respectful throughout our interactions. At times they were very insistent on me updating this review; I told them I would but since I'm reviewing the product, I would need time to use the inverter and get a feel for the quality and durability of it.We've made several trips with it and it works as advertised. It doesn't seem to get very warm and it's not noticeably noisy when the fan is on. The product and the customer service definitely earned their stars back. All in all, I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a power inverter for their vehicle.
★★★★★ Great Little Power Inverter – Reliable and Easy to UseI've been very impressed with the BESTEK 500W Power Inverter. It delivers plenty of power for running small electronics and tools, and the dual USB ports are a nice bonus for charging phones and other devices at the same time. The included alligator battery clamps are heavy-duty and provide a solid connection to a 12V battery. The inverter has performed reliably with no overheating issues, and the built-in cooling fan does a good job without being excessively loud. It's compact enough to store easily but powerful enough for camping, emergencies, road trips, or working in remote locations. The build quality feels solid, and the safety features give me confidence when using it. If you need a dependable 500W inverter for powering laptops, chargers, lights, small appliances, or other electronics, this is an excellent value for the money.Overall, I highly recommend this inverter. It has worked exactly as expected and has become a handy piece of equipment to keep on hand.
I bought this to use when I go camping or hunting and it works great!
Good
For battery connection, I upgraded my wires to 4 awg. with an inline fuse like you would for car audio amp (Much safer) when I connect a 42” TV. You can plug any size TV that doesn’t exceed the power and hz rating of the inverter. The stock wires are too thin and get super hot, depending on what you power, and the prolonged heat can damage the terminals on your inverter. 8 awg. may be sufficient but I already had 4 awg on hand, so that’s why I used it. The cigarette lighter adapter is fine for laptops, tablets, phones, etc. Great inverter for the price!
I bought this to use during power outages. It does work fine.I used two of them.It was a bit clumsy because I had to bring batteries and these inverters into the home to operate some electronics (tvs, etc.).Keep the family(me too) entertained during the outage.
This one was working fine for 3days then it started turning off some time during the night. Each day I had to turn it back on so I returned it.
This inverter works great, I use it all of the time, for camping and in the semi.
This little inverter is perfect for running a laptop, printer, game console or other small device in a vehicle while the engine is running. It will charge all my Milwaukee and DeWalt tool batteries using the fastest chargers. Unfortunately, I needed it to run my solar powered gate opener. It ran the opener fine, but the standby, or "no load" draw was over 5 watts. Times 24 hours, that means it will use about 130 watts per day if I never open my gate. My solar panel makes just a little more than that, so this inverter simply wont work for me. There are other inverters that will open my gate (square wave, 300 watt) that draw only 48 watt hours per day.
Bestek company has an Excellent customer care.
I just bought this back in July. I have never used it. I decided to use it right now to get me out of a bind just my luck auxiliary plug doesn’t work if I connect to my battery it works just fine. It’s just a cord that is bad if the sellers sends me another cord that’s actually works I will be glad to remove this review.Update:: shorty after I posted this comment the seller made things right and immediately send me not only another cord but also another inverter. That’s how you take care of your customers!!
been using one for couple years bout two larger one recently, but 500, the old one, has never given me any problems
Product received as advertised.
500 watt strength and very quiet
The inverter works good, but unfortunately the two USB ports quit working after about 9 months. I contacted Bestek customer service and they asked to see a video to show them the defect, or maybe tell me how to fix it. I sent them a quick video and my new replacement inverter arrived the next day. I highly recommend this inverter because it's good, and customer service is excellent.
We needed 110V power for our camper during off grid outings. We just needed to charge laptops and phones, run a small fan - little stuff. this little number does the job. It is quiet and cool. Under 50 bucks - sweet!
